Speaking of Russian electronic invasions, after taking a trip to the southern Slavic countries this last year I have been fascinated with the Slavic “Hard Bass” music coming from there and Russia, rave music that sounds very similar to hard trance from Germany, Britain and America that was popular in the late 90s. In the last year, Reddit has shared some of these videos of track-suited enthusiasts with the tagline, “Meanwhile, in Russia…” With a Slavic accent, “bass” is pronounced like the fish, not the lower range of musical tones. Thus, they seem to continuously call upon a grizzled fish that likes to party. Here is one of the mixes below. If it happens to contain anything offensive in Russian, my unintentional apologies!
